Our Expertise is Here to Help and to Protect You
We have a specialist Probate, Trusts and Wills department ready to help you. We can take over as much or as little of the administration of the estate as you need. However, as experts we know the most efficient way to look after the estate both in terms of money and time savings.
We can help you to:
- Ensure you maximise all Inheritance Tax reliefs and allowances
- Ensure that all executors are properly protected against any estate creditors
- Collect in all of the assets of the estate
- Ensure that the estate is administered correctly and within the confines of the law
- Ensure that all tax issues are dealt with as efficiently as possible
- Deal with all of the beneficiaries
- Advise on any ongoing trusts
How Long Does Probate Usually Take?
Every estate is different and the time it takes to deal with the administration varies considerably. The following factors will influence the time and are based on the date of the deceased passing away:
- 2 to 6 months to obtain a Grant of Probate/Administration
- 6 to 12 months to complete the administration of a simple estate
These are only guidelines based on our experience having dealt with probate cases since John Hodge Solicitors were formed in 1777. We will use all of our expertise to ensure that matters conclude as promptly as possible but ensuring everything is dealt with properly and efficiently.
