Tell us about yourself
I am a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives; I qualified in 1981 and have worked for John Hodge Solicitors since 1973.
What is your specialist area of law?
I specialise in Family Law with particular emphasis on divorce, cohabitation and children matters and the financial consequences of a relationship breakdown.
What do you offer clients of John Hodge Solicitors?
My many years experience as a family lawyer tells me that when family problems are the issue, the most important consideration is that the chosen lawyer has the right approach. I would encourage everyone to agree that family disputes are not contests in which there are winners and losers, but searches for fair solutions. I believe my specialist accreditations shows that I have a proven track record in being able to assist clients in this way but where court proceedings are necessary I will support my client all the way to ensure that their best interests are met.
Do you belong to any Panels or Associations which show you have reached a notable level of expertise and experience in your specialist area of law?
I am a Resolution Accredited Specialist. Resolution is a national organisation of family lawyers committed to dealing with family problems in a non-confrontational manner. I am also a member of the Law Society’s Family Law Panel.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Working with my clients and others to reduce the emotional and financial hardship of family crises and striving to help them find the very best solutions.
A Message for clients:
“I am committed to encouraging a non-confrontational approach to resolving family disputes. That way, both the emotional and financial costs of divorce or family breakdown are minimised for those involved.”
Is there anything else you’d like to say?
I have a great interest in my community. I am Chair of Governors at the Uphill Community Primary School and Chair of the Uphill Village Society.
