Tell us about yourself
I moved down to Bristol in 2017 from Dundee to pursue a career in Property Law.
Since then, I have fallen in love with the city and the culture of independence that exists here, particularly for local business, food, and music.
I have an interest in cooking, particularly French food. In sport, I play Handball, having been actively involved in the city’s club for a number of years.

Transparency, efficiency, and availability. An expertise that is professional but approachable with the aim of explaining how particular circumstances during a legal matter can affect a client.
What do you think makes a good lawyer?
Communication, transparency, and availability. For clients, buying and selling property is one of the most stressful things to happen in your life, and having a lawyer by your side that can be relied upon to provide sufficient updates and advice is one but a few ways to help make everything easier along that journey.
What do you most enjoy about your role?
Meeting clients from all walks of culture, background, and life.

Is there anything else you would like to say?
These days there are often “factory” law firms that focus on bulk instructions and require a volume of instructions in order to operate. This often leads to less emphasis on service quality and advice, and "simply" moving to completion all the while not affording their clients the explanation about what they’re doing and paying for.
At John Hodge Solicitors, providing explanations and communicating with clients as to what is happening is key to the service I provide all my clients; which I have seen first-hand ease the pressure of buying and selling on them during their transactions.
