The 19th May 2025 is the start of “Action for Brain Injury” week, an annual event which aims to raise awareness of brain injury and its impact upon not only the individual but their families too. The week encourages discussion, and advocates for more services as shockingly every 90 seconds someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury!
This year’s theme is “On a good day” which aims to raise awareness of how symptoms and capabilities can fluctuate due to a brain injury. At John Hodge Solicitors, our personal injury team know that brain injuries impact people very differently, and often no two days are the same for those suffering from the effects of one. It is essential to receive support from friends and family, from the NHS, and from other resources to help navigate this significant change in their life, and we can often arrange such support during the pursuit of a claim.
An acquired brain injury is defined as “damage to the brain which occurs after birth”. Common causes include a trauma such as a road traffic accident, a fall, or an assault. A brain injury can be caused by other things too, such as a stroke.
If you or someone you know has suffered an acquired brain injury due to a trauma or accident, please contact our personal injury team who will be happy to assess whether you may be able to pursue a civil claim for compensation.
We provide a free No Obligation Injury Claim Consultation where you can discuss with us your injury claim, the claim process and funding of your claim without cost to you and when we can tell you if we will accept your claim on a no win, no fee basis.
