Paralegal

Tell us about yourself

I am a Paralegal at John Hodge Solicitors. I completed my undergraduate law degree at the University of Bristol in 2023, and I went on to complete a master’s degree and the Bar Practice Course. I joined John Hodge Solicitors immediately after this in 2024.

What is your specialist area of law?

Private Client work including Wills, Probate, Trusts, Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection work.

What do you offer clients of John Hodge Solicitors?

My efforts centre around communication and availability. I want to really understand a client so that I am best placed to help them reach the right outcome.

What do you think makes a good lawyer?

A good private client lawyer combines empathy with objectivity. They understand a client’s personal aims and provide a clear route to achieve them, while also explaining the pros and cons. This ensures clients are fully informed and able to make balanced and confident decisions that are in their best interests.

What do you most enjoy about your role?

The aspect of my role that fills me with the most satisfaction is when a client arrives feeling overwhelmed or nervous about their situation, but by the end of our meeting, they leave feeling calmer, reassured, and better informed. That tells me that I have done my job.

A Message for clients:

When it comes to estate administration or Court of Protection work, I aim to take as much stress and pressure away from the client as possible as I understand that for many this could be the most difficult situation in their life.

In terms of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, my goal is to be the person who supports the client’s objectives but is able to see the other side of the picture and draw their attention to factors or circumstances that they may have never considered.

Ultimately, my role is all about working with the client  to achieve the best outcome for them no matter their situation.
