James Gass
Tell us about yourself?
I am a Partner. I qualified in December 2011 and began working at John Hodge Solicitors in 2019.
I specialise in all aspects of property work including commercial property, residential conveyancing and agricultural matters.
What do you offer clients of JHS?
I enjoy helping clients and providing them with peace of mind; be that by answering the telephone, responding to an e-mail or meeting with them face to face. I have very often been in the same situation that most of my clients find themselves in, so understand what they want and what they need.
Communication really is key.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
From a professional point of view I enjoy the variety of work and challenges that come with my role. No two days are ever the same. From a personal point of view I gain satisfaction from helping clients achieve their goals within the desired timeframe.
What do you think makes a good lawyer?
To be approachable and to be able to listen.
A message for clients
I live and was brought up locally so have a very good working knowledge of the area. Not only that but I understand what people want and need which is more often than not quite simply ‘clarity and an understanding’.
Is there anything else you would like to say?
The market for providing conveyancing services is ultra-competitive with large ‘warehouse’ firms taking up a significant portion of the market. While their fees may be pleasing on the eye what they fail to offer - and what we deliver at John Hodge Solicitors - is a service tailored to your needs.
I appreciate that instructing a conveyancing Solicitor will often tie in with one of the most stressful times of your life . I therefore make a concerted effort to be as accessible as possible and answer any queries that you may have as soon as I am able to do so.
